About Fog of Eternity
Fog of Eternity examines aspects of web design, social networking, the accessibility agenda and the wider web and tech related world.
I’ve been working as a web designer or in related roles for about six years. I currently work on internal web design at a recruitment company, developing sites for specific job assignments and working on the corporate website. As an experienced web designer I have strong opinions about the trends in the way we view information on the web, and this page attempts to explain those thoughts, to provide guidance on aspects of design, and also to act as something of a showcase for my own work.
I write a wide ranging and professionally focused blog in which I examine some issues of particular importance to me - particularly examining the accessibility and usability debate but also including site evaluations, reviews of useful software, tutorials on aspects of web design and coding.
You can also find a summary of my design ethos, which is an attempt to briefly explain some of the core issues that are important to me in regards to web design and development in an easy to understand manner. I try to look well beyond the basic (and somewhat outdated) accessibility guidelines provided by the World Wide Web Consortium and to take a much wider and deeper look at overall accessibility and usability issues.
My Skills
Highly motivated, creative and flexible web designer experienced with Visual Studio 6, Visual Studio 2005, Visual Studio 2008, SQL Server 2005, .NET 2.0, .NET 3.5, Javascript, C#, XHTML, XML and Flash 8.0. Extremely strong CSS design skills including a focus on web accessibility issues. Consistent record of high quality delivery for corporate and public sector clients.
I’m more than happy to take on freelance work to develop my wider portfolio, assuming such work is not in a related industry and does not impact on my salaried role.
