Just ordered the Transcending CSS book.

Looking forward to reading this (when I get the time!) and getting a different perspective - from what you said.

CSS Zen Garden are certainly the longest lasting promoters of CSS benefits that I'm aware of. Their site continues to be a showcase of its abilities.

I think one of the things I like most about the Transcending CSS book is how it promotes maximising the CSS functionality of the newest browsers. Rather than aiming to ensure that a web page looks the same on all browsers (i.e. tweaking it "down" to work OK in IE6) it argues there's nothing wrong with going for different approaches that take full advantage of all the abilities of modern CSS support.

You make some very valid points there.

I have just finished reading the CSS Zen Garden book, although it was published a few years back most of it is still relevant today. It is a real insight into how different a site can look by just changing the style sheet.

I haven't read the Transcending CSS book, but I've heard good things about it.
